Medicine in Motion was founded by Robb Blackaby and Clay Selby in 2010. This partnership began long before the two met while working together at professional skateboarding and snowboarding events as medical providers in 2001. Both grew up skateboarding and snowboarding throughout the 1980's, Blackaby in Arizona and Selby in Colorado. It was their passion for these sports that ultimately brought them together to form MIM in effort to give back to the community that gave so much to them.

Prior to the formation of MIM, the two began working together at the Vans Triple Crown Series of Skateboarding and Snowboarding events where they coordinated medical services and provided care to injured athletes.

It had always been a goal for the duo to start their own sports medicine service. In 2010 they were approached by ESPN to coordinate medical care for Summer X Games 16 in Los Angeles, California. The two gladly accepted the offer and Medicine in Motion was born. The staff at the Summer X Games included certified athletic trainers, physical therapists, allopathic and osteopathic physicians, physician assistants, and registered nurses. The Medicine in Motion staff coordinated and worked harmoniously with local EMS to provide a quick and effective response time, with optimal care to the athletes. In 2016, Robb took over control of Medicine In Motion and the group has continued to grow.

It is MIM's belief that athletes receive the highest level of care by utilizing professionals from different backgrounds. The blend of diverse abilities ensures that athletes receive appropriate and optimal sports medicine care.

MIM has proudly served as the official sports medicine provider for:
